Kittl is a Unique Online, Subscription-based Graphic Design Software that offers a multitude of Premium Editing Tools, Fonts, Templates and Elements that’s backed with an amazing array of Generative AI Tools used for creating all types of Premium Graphics for Print, Social Media, Personal Projects, Branding, Product Launches and more. Really, Kittl is in a class of its own when it comes to the visuals that can be produced and it’s difficult to compare to other platforms in this category.

Let’s take a look what’s available all from within the Kittl interface.

What do we have to work with?

• My Projects – Here you’ve got easy access to all your saved projects on Kittl.
• Template Search – Feast your eyes one of Kittl’s shining features. There is an extensive array of expertly designed, quality templates for the likes of Logos, T-shirts, Posters, Posts, etc. Also within, there’s easy access to the AI Logo Generator.
• Add Text – Simply add a Heading, Paragraph or choose from amazing Templates for your desired text. Really, if you are stuck for inspiration check out the templates you can fully customize yourself.
• Add Elements – Choose from thousands of free and premium Shapes, Ornaments and Illustrations to fill that empty space. This section is part of the backbone of Kittl. These are the basic elements that are used to create Kitt’s stunning and arguably unique design templates. Add any to your canvas and customize to your taste.
• Upload Section – Upload in PNG, JPEG, SVG or WEBP and the menu’s worth mentioning because it also contains a nice folder section to organise all those pretty pictures of you that you want to plaster all over social media.
• Search Stock Photos – There’s not even categories here, the search works so well! Seemingly endless top-notch photography at your finger tips.
• Textures & Backgrounds – Another neat extension to Kittl’s library. Add an extra layer, literally, and get a look that feels more real or natural.

What can we do with them?

Essentially in Kittl you’ll be working with images, vectors and fonts so when you add or select one of the above, a different editing pane will open respectfully.

Here’s a look at the editing functions:

• Text Editor – Oh boy… This was the first feature that attracted me to Kittl! There’s a lot going on here and it is so easy to use. For the time it may take in pro software, you’ve got some serious Text Transformation capabilities along with some stunning Text Effects. Kittl are also part of a company called the Heritage Type Company, who stock some of the best premium fonts I’ve ever seen in my life. Kittl is loaded with them and contributes to some of the most unique designs you’ll see.
• Image Editor – Kittl boasts a simple but effective Image Editor, providing the standard adjustments like brightness, vibrance contrast but also accessible here are two AI features, the Background Remover and Image Vectorizer.
• Vector Editor – Simply change object colors, opacity or add a border and adjust the weight.
• Layers Panel – Easy to find, easy to use and essential!

Some nice touches!

And here’s a list of some extra features that contribute to Kittl’s ease of use:

• Light or Dark Interface – For those of us who like the night work or just like the cool look.
• Manual & Auto Save – If you’ve got to shut-down quickly, you’re covered.
• Quick Access to Shortcuts – Not every platform in this category will give you all the keyboard shortcuts that Kittl provide so take heed!
• Effective Object Snapping – Not always an easy feature to get right but Kittl got the job done.

And when your design is done, well you gotta do somethin’ with it!

• Kitll has an array of Social Media and Link Sharing options. Just click the share icon and distribute your design for the world to see.
• Maybe you want to test it on a Mockup. Just click the button and choose your medium.
• Maybe you’re designing a phone cover or t-shirt for a loved one. Click the Print Button and get a list of merchandise to Print & Deliver.
• Or Maybe you’ve got other plans and want to download a hard copy. You can choose from PNG, JPEG, SVG and PDF.

Pros & Cons of the Kittl Editor

As you may have gathered, I love this software so it’s difficult to pick fault for what it is… but… I’ll do my job and get to the bones, as I said I would. Let’s start with the Pros:

Pros:

• Small Learning Curve – If you happen to get stuck, there are plenty of videos and articles to help but a lot of the interface is self explanatory with easy access to the keyboard short-cut list.
• Premium Fonts, Templates & Elements – These for me are the core of Kittl as these are what your customer or client base sees. You are guaranteed top quality here so dig in and see what they’ve got.
• Excellent Text Transformation & Effects – This is a big Pro for Kittl. You can really customize any text with these options. Try fitting your text to a curve and add some shading or shadow. It´s impressive!
• Generative AI – Apart from the pro level of these tools and the level of productivity you’ll achieve, these things are fun to use. From the Image Generator to the Quote Generator or the Image Vectorizer… your imagination can be the limit.
• Good Downland, Share and Print Options – All made very simple and easily accessible on the workspace.
• Brilliant Mockup Generator – This works perfectly! There are plenty of templates to test your design, logo or branding.
• Excellent On-line Support – if it’s tutorials you need, a help centre to understand the system or you just need to get through to a human, Kittl has you covered. Having needed to contact Kittl myself I can say that the response time was very quick, the issue got resolved and technical team were definitely knowledgeable in their field. Hats off guys!

Cons:

• No Mobile App – Of course a dedicated app with cloud save, full editor and share options would be great but these things can take time and resources to set-up. Hopefully we’ll see Kittl produce even an Android version sometime in the near future.
• Uncategorized Social Media Templates – With social media now a massive medium for most businesses and in a lot of cases the only, it would be great to see Kittl focus on this industry a little more as already their Social Media Templates are already fantastic.
• No Branding Kit on Pro or Expert Plan – Now Kittl has Branding Features in it’s Custom Business Plan and it’s own Brand Board Templates but I find it a surprise not to see some form of it on the Pro or Expert Plans. Even a way to save a color palette would be a decent advantage to the sole-trader.

Personal Experience

Now I get to write about the fun I had with Kittl! Well it’s been just so easy to pick a beautiful template, created by some top level designer, customize it, add or take away aspects and send birthday cards to the family, as I’ve been living away as of late.

The great thing about Kittl is that even for an experienced designer, iy can give time off from having to create from scratch. It’s made easy for everyone. It takes nothing to edit and customize on this interface, with seemly endless options for design. It’s always a satisfaction to create and personalise a gift for someone.

The other aspect I’ve had maybe too much fun with are the AI features. Get stuck in guys! They’ve recently updated the software to it’s AI ImageGen V2.0 and there’s a significant increase in the generative quality.

Also, Kittl helped in the creation of the ‘thank you cards’ for my wedding guests, not so long ago. It’s so easy to upload or download and work between programs, as I do on the desktop and recently I entered one of Kittl’s Monthly Design Challenges to design a Christmas Ornament. There was am easy to follow tutorial to get you started and turned out to be a lot of fun. I didn’t win though… but I should have…

How Much is Kittl?

And now we get to the serious stuff… ‘What’s it gonna’ cost me..?’ Well to start with there’s the Free Forever Plan that’s basically limited to personal use. You’ll have limited export options too but it’s perfect to try it out or use as a hobby.

Then there’s the Pro Plan. For as low as $10/m you get the Full Commercial License, Unlimited Vector Exports and other great benefits to help keep your projects ticking.

There’s also an Expert Plan starting at $24/m, allowing for more storage and more Kittl AI Credits and a Custom Business Plan that can allow up to 5 users on one account and, the ever so sought after, Branding Features. For further details, check Kittl’s Pricing.

Kittl Alternatives

For me, there are no real alternatives to Kittl because of the sheer unique character it exudes, it’s advanced text editing tools and the quality of it’s templates, fonts and graphics but it has crossovers in functionality with other programs and it depends on what you’re looking for:

If it’s great templates, some advanced design editing and say logo creation, then Canva, Adobe Express or VistaCreate are similar alternatives but boast their own array of features and also have Video Editing.

Maybe you’re looking for more control over your designs and text, you’ve maybe a little experience of pro software and you need something with more versatility and precision. Then something like CorelDraw, Adobe Creative Cloud or Xara Designer Pro+ will be more fitting – more advanced software but more learning.

Or maybe you’re looking for something more simple, straight forward or more dedicated to social media posts. Then you’ll need Snappa or Picmaker. Two design tools that make it easier on the new user.
